Nature's Classroom® at Merom Nature's Classroom is an educational opportunity for students and teachers to expand their learning beyond the traditional classroom setting. Our ability to motivate children to want to learn is a key factor in an educator's decision to make Nature's Classroom an essential part of their classroom. The process begins when teachers volunteer to bring their students to Nature's Classroom. Schools can attend programs from one day to a 5 days, staying on site at the Merom Conference Center. At Nature's Classroom students take an active role in their education by participating in exciting hands-on interdisciplinary classes. Students begin to understand how the fundamentals of education are the necessary building blocks of their future and therefore are committed to learn. Having spent a week at Nature's Classroom, living and learning together, students develop a sense of community, a confidence in themselves and an appreciation for others that carries over to the school community. They see their classroom teacher as a person and friend in the learning process. The strengthened peer cooperation and expanded student-teacher relationships have an influence on the cognitive growth of the students throughout the school year. Together, they return to the classroom united through this shared experience to achieve the common goal of the pursuit of knowledge.
Nature's Classroom works closely with school teachers to create a learning partnership that lasts a lifetime.
